We went to old Tajimas for some Japanese food but like many other Japanese places in SD they all close around 2pm. So we walked around the block to Nozomi.
It was our first time trying it.
We started off with a little soup.
My first time eatting oranges in awhile because I don’t like tearing orange peels. It was good.
For dessert we got Green Tea ice cream Tempura. It was strange but alright at the same time. Like fried chicken and waffles.
Afterwards we stopped by Revelle college because they had a “snow day”. But I swear it was just ice.
It was pretty fun.
Can’t wait for Eclipse tonight!

Some reason I really like looking up at the sky. I always liked the different shapes, colors, and vastness of the sky. It’s like using a wide angle lens in reality. Sometimes I just pause for a moment and watch the clouds move. I was walking by OVT and this looked cool to me.
The point of this blog was to show the world through my eyes.. So yeah. Might be wierd haha.
So I read the Guardian when a new issue comes out (Monday and Thursday). I just started reading it more recently. I usually read the front article, loft articles, comic, and editorial column.
I found this artwork disturbing but representarive of the current situation.
It’s a puppy with a name tag saying: The Loft. Pleading for a treat from AS. It is ridiculous that AS won’t even give students a chance to vote thus voicing their opinions on the issue. It’s also lame that they will only give funding if they get more oversight than they already have. We have already seen how AS runs and their system is crappy, slow, and nonstudent-friendly. If AS gets more oversight over The Loft, no student input will be heard and everything will need to go through hundreds of votes and discussions before anything changes or moves forward. What I hate most about working anywhere in general is the governmental red tape we have to leap, dodge, fly over in order to get anything done. If AS gets hold of power over The Loft I feel that the tape will instantly become a giant red wall.
On to dancing, Mari’s class was Amazing. Darryl’s was too, but Mari’s was extra amazing. Afterwards, we ate at Phuong Trang on Convoy. Then headed over to the new yogurt place (one of many) on Conoy/Clairemont Mesa called Yogurt Lounge. The yogurt was good and cheaper than Yogurt world. 29 cents per ounce I think it was.
We also played Jenga. Didn’t lose haha. On of my Ascension teamate Carmen also pointed out that when I sing a song I don’t just sing the words like normal people but sing the beats too for moves in choreography. Like:
Dun Dun
One night in town
Dun Dun
I came around
Dun Dun
I realized I do that for a lot of songs now. Too much dancing haha. She sang how I sang it and it sounded hella strange but it still sounds good in my head so I guess that’s all that matters. Dun Dun.

So tomorrow night the second Eclipse will come to The Loft @ UC San Diego.
Again, Ascension will be hosting and Dj Bodyrawk spinning the beats.
I just had 40 posters printed and posted them up all over Price Center other places around campus.
Somehow I managd to cut myself putting posters up. Now you can see what posters have to go through for y’all.. so you should come to Eclipse tomorrow! :p
So some of my friends found out Mari is teaching at Culture Shock on Thursdays now. So we are planning on going today at 6pm then take Daryll’s class afterward.
Hella exciting.

It’s kind of strange to think I lived two decades… Haha. Can’t wait to party this weekend.
I just printed my photo project due today at 1pm. Thanks Yen for being my subject last night! You are a good sport!
Right now I’m sitting outside photography lecture waiting for the class to end so I can sign in.
Oh yeah, thanks to everyone wished me a happy birthday!

Hell week is over… But crazy round of performances starts.
My saturday started at 10AM waking up for work. I had my first videography gig for The Loft. It was for an Alumni Association event. It felt so surreal because it was my FIRST paid gig to film something and is special to me because this is my major… I don’t know, it felt really strange in a good way.
I was able to use a Canon HDV camera worth about $3000 dollars. This is also my first time using an HDV camera. It was was SOOOOOOO cool. :)
Right after work, I went straight to Ascension tech time for the All 4 U event. After tech time some of us went out to grab a burrito and get snacks to prepare for the long night. It was a fun performance and our first real one of the year with an while set on a large stage. It was also amazing to check out Choreo cookies and SGBM live and see some of my friends SGBM.
The next morning we had to wake up at 6AM and left for UCLA at around 7AM for CHS (Chinese Heritage Festival) held by all the CASAs (Chinese American Student Associations) in So Cal.
It was a really fun day. There were a bunch of games between all the CASA dance teams from UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCR, USC, and we also performed a set for kick off for All Cal in May.
Along with all the fun, we also won the CHS trophy for the first time since CHS started 5 years ago. Go UCSD Tritons! All the teams were very nice and good sports. It was nice meeting you!
CHS ended around 5 or 6PM. All of us were so tired and were about to pass out. But we couldn’t leave LA without checking out the town and restaurants.
We checked out Diddy Riece which was an amazing ice cream and cookie place. It was was $1.50 for one of these. Really cheap and really good. Yum. We also chatted with some CADC people and they were real chill. I recognized one of them so much and found out she used to dance for 220 last year.
Afterwards we ate at Noodle Planet. Basically Asian copycat of Hollywood planet. I got the Pho. Kinda gross. Yeah.. But overall, it was real nice to get out of SD area and eating the SAME food over and over.
Our next performance is Tuesday for a Greek event. Tomorrow is also my birthday. I can’t believe I’ve lived 2 decades. CRAZY. :)

So I was reading The Guardian, UCSD’s newspaper. I found an advertisement for the All 4 U (Dance Talent Show) this Saturday. It’s a fundraiser for homeless teens in SD.
I found it interesting that they only circled Ascension and titled it “UCSD’s Top Hip Hop Crew”. The circled even covered up part of 220′s name.
Again, I’m stoked about seeing the other teams and seeing their new sets.
My legs are real sore from 6 hour practices the past couple days cause I’m also choreographing for VSA and putting together a team.

If you’re going to do, do it big.
If you’re going to go, go all out.
If you’re going to make, make it far.
If you’re going to come, come real close.
If you’re going to BE, be you.
If you’re going to dance, with love, with passion, and with the willingness to grow.
If you’re going to REALLY live, never hold back.

So cause I’m stuck in campus without a car, a warm bowl of Udon (with noodle and chicken) from Shogun will suffice.

So I went home today and went to Costco for some food. Around 3pm we went to this new Dim Sum/Cafe place in my neighborhood of Linda Vista.
It was ridiculous. Elderly Chinese women were yelling and shouting trying to get their order of food. It was kind of fun. And definitely an experience.
(Lots more people than shown in the pic).
The food is pretty good and really cheap. About average of 1-2 dollars a box of 4. And bowls of noodle/wonton/soup is about 3 bucks.

Sup. Tomorrow is the start of hell week because the week after we will have 4 performances including the closing performance at one of my Eclipse Club Parties at The Loft.
It’s gonna be a hectic week followed by a couple more hectic weeks planning the two Eclipses in April and another series of shows consisting of popular Asian American artists.
Ghetto practices in the parking structure during hell week. We have to stop everytime a car has to leave the parking structure.
Our first performance is this Saturday for a charity event called All 4 U. I can’t wait to check out what other teams are bringing to the table including Choreo cookies, SGBM, and 220.
I thought this poster is really cool. It feels real good to see something I worked hard on get advertised in these kind of outlets. I also heard from friends that different RAs have been putting reminders about Eclipse in their newsletters for residents. :)
