Gives Me Hope

I found this site yesterday: www.GivesMeHope.com (Thanks Teresa Wu for tweeting). It was popular among my friends when I re-tweeted and posted on Facebook, so I thought I’d post it here for you guys.

It’s like the opposite of FML where people post incidences that make them believe in humanity, whether random acts of kindness or remarkable feats of sacrifice and love. The feeling you get is a little like watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition/being hugged/watching Pursuit of Happiness/and seeing kind charitable acts during the Holiday season.

The site was created because the founders were tired of hearing what’s wrong with the world and to counter the constant negative depressing stories around us and in the media.

“Because with all of the hurt and suffering in the world, who couldn’t use a few more reasons to hope each day?”

A fun fact is the co-creator Gaby Montero (21) founder of DailyCute.net and recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame and other co-creator Emerson Spartz (22) at the age of 12,  founded MuggleNet.com – most visited Harry Potter site in the world, also University of Notre Dame graduate are engaged to each other as of April, 2009. Pretty sweet.

Cool thing is I heard of DailyCute.net before and visited MuggleNet.com years ago when I was younger.
